Transgender musician and author Rae Spoon’s first book, First Spring Grass Fire, was published by Arsenal Pulp Press in September 2012. The book was a finalist for a Lambda Award in the Transgender Fiction category, as well as shortlisted for an Expozine Alternative Press Award. Earlier this year Arsenal Pulp Press released Gender Failure, which is co-authored with Ivan E. Coyote, a poignant collection of autobiographical essays, lyrics, and images documenting Ivan and Rae's personal journeys from gender failure to gender self-acceptance. Rae lives in Montreal.
