O’Leary
Sara O'Leary is a children’s writer, novelist, and short fiction author. She has a degree in screenwriting from the University of British Columbia and has taught both screenwriting and writing for children at Concordia University. O’Leary has written several acclaimed books for children including A Kid is a Kid is a Kid, Gemma and the Giant Girl, The Little Books of the Little Brontës, and This is Sadie, which was adapted for the stage by New York City Children’s Theater. Her short fiction was selected for Biblioasis’ Best Canadian Stories 2021 and The Ghost in the House is her first novel. She is a former literary columnist for The Vancouver Sun and CBC Radio. Born in Saskatoon, O’Leary now lives on the Fundy Coast in New Brunswick.
