Watch the 2020 Digital Writers' Trust Awards

Featuring the presentation of nine literary prizes and more than $302,000 to Canadian writers in three unique digital events.

On Wednesday, October 21, the winners of three $10,000 emerging writers awards will be announced: RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers (poetry and short fiction), Dayne Ogilvie Prize for LGBTQ Emerging Writers, and Writers’ Trust McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize.

On Wednesday, November 18, the winners of two of Canada’s most prestigious book prizes will be revealed: Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction ($60,000) and Writers' Trust Fiction Prize ($50,000).

On Wednesday, December 2 the recipients of four $25,000 career achievement awards will be honoured: Matt Cohen Award: In Celebration of A Writing Life, Latner Writers’ Trust Poetry Prize, Vicky Metcalf Award for Literature for Young People, and Writers’ Trust Engel Findley Award.

This year’s Writers’ Trust Awards is made possible by presenting partner The Humber School for Writers as well as numerous corporate, foundation, and individual sponsors.
