Zalika
Reid-Benta
Zalika Reid-Benta’s short story collection, Frying Plantain, won the Danuta Gleed Literary Award and the Kobo Emerging Writer Prize, and was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. It was shortlisted for the Toronto Book Awards and the Trillium Book Award and is nominated for the 2021 White Pine Book Award. Reid-Benta also won the 2019 ByBlacks People’s Choice Award for Best Author and lives in Toronto.
