Uchechukwu
Peter Umezurike
Uchechukwu Peter Umezurike is a writer, poet, and assistant professor in the department of English at the University of Calgary. He is the author of the poetry collection there’s more; the short story collection Double Wahala, Double Trouble; and the children’s book Wish Maker. Umezurike is also the co-editor of the poetry anthology Wreaths for a Wayfarer. He won the Nigeria Prize for Literary Criticism in 2021 for his essays on publishing during the military dictatorship in Nigeria. Umezurike’s critical works have appeared in Journal of Literary & Cultural Disability Studies, Journal of the African Literature Association, and Metacritic. He lives in Calgary.
