Padma Viswanathan

Padma Viswanathan is the author of three novels, The Toss of a Lemon, The Ever After of Ashwin Rao, and The Charterhouse of Padma, and the memoir Like Every Form of Love. Her work has been published internationally and shortlisted for the PEN Center USA Fiction Prize, the Giller Prize, and other awards. In 2001, Viswanathan was a finalist for the RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers – Short Fiction. Her writing and translations have appeared in Granta, The Paris Review, LitHub, Brick, and Asymptote. Viswanathan has published book-length translations of Brazilian literature, is co-editing the Penguin Book of Brazilian Short Stories, and is a professor of creative writing at the University of Arkansas.
