Niigaan Sinclair

Niigaan Sinclair is Anishinaabe from Peguis First Nation and a writer, editor, and professor of Indigenous Studies at the University of Manitoba. He is a multiple nominee and 2018 winner of Canadian Columnist of the Year from the National Newspaper Awards. His national bestseller Wînipêk: Visions of Canada from an Indigenous Centre won the 2024 Governor General’s Award for Nonfiction. Sinclair co-hosts the Niigaan and the Lone Ranger podcast and regularly appears on CBC, APTN, and in The Winnipeg Free Press. He lives in Manitoba.
