Citation

“It’s not easy to be honest as a writer, it’s actually one of the hardest things. Liz Stewart’s work is honest and beautiful — real, singular, and urgent. Her writing is the kind that I could read idly at a noisy bar with a beer and suddenly be attention-vortexed into the story — like, listen to me, truly, I promise this is true. I can feel a voice speaking on the other end of what I’m reading. As a fellow queer woman from the rural Prairies, she makes me feel a way about the material, and that’s special. Stewart is making something intimate that anyone can believe and see.”—2025 WT Rising Stars selector Casey Plett
