Katherine Ashenburg

Katherine Ashenburg is a writer and former English professor, CBC Radio producer, and arts and books editor at The Globe and Mail. She has written seven books, including Going to Town, about Southern Ontario town architecture; The Mourner’s Dance: What We Do When People Die, a study of mourning rituals; and The Dirt on Clean: An Unsanitized History, a cultural history of bodily cleanliness. Ashenburg adapted that history for younger readers in All the Dirt. All her books have been finalists for or winners of literary prizes. Ashenburg lives in Toronto.
