Scheier is a Toronto-based poet and recipient of the 2008 Governor General’s Literary Award for Poetry. Working on a collection of essays, at Berton House during his April to June spring residency he wrote about his “experiences being Jewish in places absent or virtually absent of Jewish communities.”
