Darcy Tara McDiarmid

Darcy Tara McDiarmid is a painter, carver, illustrator, and filmmaker. A Han and Northern Tutchone artist from the crow clan, McDiarmid believes in honouring her ancestors by devoting her art to heritage, culture, and the reclamation of traditional practices. Her work has been exhibited at the Yukon School of Visual Arts Gallery, the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre, Arts Underground, and the Dänojà Zho Cultural Centre. She has illustrated numerous books and publications including the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Ecological Land Use Monitoring Plan. Her films have been screened at festivals including imagineNATIVE Film and Media Arts Festival, Images Festival, and the Dawson International Short Film Festival. McDiarmid lives on Tr’ondëk Hwëtch’in Territories in Dawson City, Yukon.
