Danny
Ramadan
Danny Ramadan is a Syrian-Canadian author and advocate for LGBTQ refugees. His debut novel, The Clothesline Swing, won both an Independent Publisher Book Award and the Canadian Authors Fred Kerner Award, and was shortlisted for the Evergreen Award, the Sunburst Award, and a Lambda Literary Award. His children’s book Salma the Syrian Chef was shortlisted for the Blue Spruce Award and named a best book of 2020 by Kirkus Reviews and School Library Journal. Ramadan’s forthcoming novel, The Foghorn Echoes, will be published in 2022. He lives in Vancouver.
