Dallas Hunt is Cree and a member of Wapsewsipi (Swan River First Nation) in Treaty Eight territory in northern Alberta. His first poetry collection, Creeland, was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award, an Indigenous Voices Award, and the ReLit Award for Poetry. Hunt’s first children’s book, Awâsis and the World-Famous Bannock, was a finalist for CBC Kids Reads. His new collection, Teeth, was released in April 2024. Hunt is an assistant professor of Indigenous literatures at the University of British Columbia.
