| The RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers
Supported by RBC Foundation
Winner: $5,000; Finalists: $1,000
Established in memory of
poet Bronwen Wallace, who died at the age of 44, this award alternates
each year between short fiction and poetry. As Ms. Wallace's first

is given to a writer below the age of 35 who has yet to be published
in book form. It was awarded for the first time in the poetry category
on May 26th, 1994 in Kingston, Ontario.
This year's prize is in the category of short fiction. The deadline for submissions has been extended to January 29, 2010. Information about submission requirements is included in the call for applications.
