The Four Seasons Hotel, Toronto
A true celebration of Canadian writers and writing, this annual black tie gala continues to be one of the most talked-about literary events in the city. Leaders of the arts and business communities will join prominent Canadian authors to support the Writers' Trust on November 14, 2013 at Toronto's Four Seasons Hotel.

Held in the ballroom of Toronto's stunning new Four Seasons Hotel, the event was co-hosted by grace, charm, and wit by broadcast journalist and author Amanda Lang along with actor, writer, and director Zaib Shaikh. Corporate patrons and individual donors were seated at tables with 49 Canadian writers to enjoy an evening of great conversation, a literary-minded trivia quiz, and fantastic food and drink.
Writers in attendance included Vincent Lam, Tanis Rideout, Miranda Hill, Jian Ghomeshi, as well as recent Writers' Trust prize winners Nino Ricci, Paul Yee, and Alex Pugsley.
Gratitude goes to the event co-chairs Kirstine Stewart of the CBC and Luc Vanneste of Scotiabank, as well as the hardworking volunteers of the Gala Table Selling Committee. Through their efforts, the event was able to raise more than $180,000 to support the programs and initiatives of the Writers’ Trust, including our literary awards program, Berton House Writers’ Retreat, our scholarship program with Humber College, and much more.
